The ENGAGE Network operates primality The Middle East and North Africa and Southern Asia with 25 partners from 12 nations connected through three regional research hubs in Delhi (India); Baghdad (Iraq); and Tunis (Tunisia). The Regional hub will act as a focal point for Network activities, communications, and research infrastructure to engage and support research on cultural heritage.
The purpose of ENGAGE Network is to re-contextualise heritage as a humanitarian value system to mobilise discussion regarding its common elements - as meeting places, trading points, sites of shared enjoyment - and as a catalyst for much needed economic and social development and social justice. The Network's research programme revolves around four key themes:
§ Infrastructures of Heritage Partnerships
§ Collaborative Heritage Hospitality & Tourism
§ Creative Art, Craft and Cultural Co-production
§ Narratives of Displacement, Grievances and Impact
Each of the Network three Regions has a central Research Hub, where the Regional Chapter and research activities are coordinated, organised and delivered. Each Regional Hub has a Regional Coordinator, core partners and a research team. They engage and facilitate the regional activities of the network and its research programme.
